Wellness Corner

One of our Wellness Clients had a wonderful idea to have a spot where people could chat. This is a place where you can post suggestions on how to get all those pills down, foods and treats that you have found that do not contain the nasty (wheat, grain, barley, oats, rice and millet), people food that your dog likes, results you have had or just talk. Enjoy!

Thanks for this opportunity! I'll be the first to ask. . . any suggestions as to how to administer the holistic meds I'm giving to my dog for ear problems (the program has been wonderful - the improvement in her problems has been such a relief!) She insists the pills be crushed (she loves the capsules, though) so, I initially mixed in plain natural yogurt. It worked for awhile and it was so easy but, she got tired of that so, I changed to mixing in liver sausage on the recommendation of another fluffy dog fan and she does love that. Any other ideas that works to give my dog a variety?

I have fun trying to get my pups to take the pills. My one is 20lbs and the other is only 5lbs. Luckily the both LOVE treats, and will eat them like they will never be fed again.
I bought sliced ham and chicken from the local deli. I wrap each of the pills nice and tight and feed them to the pups like treats. They inhale them as fast as I can hand them over. I don't think they even know there is a pill wrapped inside.

I make small canned dog food "meatballs" with the pill buried in the center.
